Cumberland County Schools

Established in 1972, Morganton Road Elementary School provides learning opportunities to more than 650 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, English, mathematics, social studies, science and physical education. It provides opportunities for students to participate in academic quiz bowl, book fairs, and Battle of the Books. The school is involved in Partners in Education, a school-business partnership program. Its media center provides instructional and informational materials in a variety of formats, including fiction and nonfiction books, videos, audiobooks, CDs and laser disks. Morganton Road Elementary School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is located in Fayetteville, N.C.

Westover Middle School is a part of Cumberland County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Westover Middle School serves more than 750 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and English. The school supports a variety of extracurricular programs in visual arts, music, band, drama, orchestra, chorus, strings, and health and physical education. In addition, Westover Middle School conducts foreign language sessions in Spanish and offers the English as a Second Language program. It provides various vocational programs in life skills, business communications, marketing and keyboarding. Westover Middle School is located in Fayetteville, N.C.
