Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services located at 245 Hariston St Danville ,Virginia was created in 1972 by a joint resolution of Danville City Council and the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors, is the Community Services Board that provides mental health, intellectual disability, substance abuse, and prevention services to the citizens of our City and County. In Fiscal Year 2012, our Agency served 5,599 different individuals through its behavioral health and intellectual disability divisions of service. An additional 5,590 individuals were involved in the Agency's prevention programs.

Since graduating with a master’s in social work from Saint Louis University, I have been providing clinical services to children, adults, families, and groups in a variety of settings. I have had the opportunity to work with clients struggling with a variety of behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and general life stresses. Over the years, I have been fortunate to see firsthand the powerful role that therapy can play in helping people to better understand themselves and those around them. For this powerful change to take place, I believe that therapy should be a safe place where people can express and process their thoughts and feelings. I make every effort to ensure my clients are met with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance. In order to help clients reach their goals, I utilize a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapeutic care. I also integrate components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy into my work with my clients.
