I chose to become a doctor because in college I had a strong interest in the biological sciences and I enjoyed discussing the knowledge I learned with friends and family and educating them on how it impacts their day-to-day life, health and well-being. I believe this proved to be a natural gravitation to becoming a physician for me and something I am still passionate about to this day. I am particularly interested in hearing restoration in the hearing impaired and restorative procedures for hearing loss. These include things as simple as getting patients hearing aids who need them, placing ear tubes for children with chronic ear infections and as complex as performing surgery to repair ruptured ear drums and damaged ear bones, and even includes surgical implantable hearing devices such as bone anchored hearing aids and cochlear implants. I am also very interested in the treatment and surgery of sinonasal diseases such as chronic sinusitis and nasal obstruction and the management of thyroid and parotid gland masses. My approach to patient care is really shared decision making. I believe that patient autonomy should be at the forefront of medical decision making and what patients ultimately decide to do with their bodies is their choice. It is my duty to educate patients on their health status so that they may make informed decisions about their health, even if I may not necessarily agree with those decisions. That being said, it is also my responsibility as a provider to strongly emphasize what I believe is in the best interest of their health. Outside of work, I love the outdoors. Whether it's hiking, climbing, camping or sailing, my wife and I cannot be outside enough. I also greatly enjoy working on and restoring classic sports cars.

I chose to become an audiologist because of my family's history of hearing loss. Due to being diagnosed with hearing loss myself at a young age, I have been exposed to the field of audiology for quite some time. I feel that I can provide a compassionate approach to those with hearing loss because of my own personal hearing experiences. Listening to the patient's needs and their unique hearing experiences is so important in the management of hearing loss. It is also important to meet the individual where they are in their hearing journey. I strive to provide the best audiological care while keeping the individual's unique hearing needs in mind. My audiological interests include pediatric hearing diagnostics and management. I also enjoy working with all individuals that seek hearing aids as a means for better communication. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family; my children keep me busy. We enjoy spending time at the beach and at other locations that our family trips may take us. My hobbies include reading, boating and riding bikes.
