Vassar College

A radio station, volunteer network and musical groups are among the more than 100 student-run organizations and clubs at Vassar College. Others include a number of student publications, performance groups and ethnic, religious and political groups. Consistently ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the United States, Vassar College is a highly selective, residential, coeducational liberal arts college. Each year, more than 2,400 students enroll at the college, whose more than 250 faculty members teach programs in art, biology, chemistry, computer science, drama and film, economics, education, history, mathematics, music, philosophy, physics and astronomy, psychology, religion and a number of foreign languages. Vassar College also has more than 20 NCAA Division III varsity athletic teams that include basketball, cross country, fencing, lacrosse, rowing, rugby, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball. Vassar College was founded in 1861 and is situated on a 1,000-acre campus in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
