Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc. is owned and operated by local dairy farmers in the Western New York State area. It markets a wide variety of products that include milk, dip, ice cream mix, yogurt and flavored milk-based beverages, under the Upstate Farms, Bison, Milk for Life, and Intense MilksTM brands. It maintains exclusive rights for national food-service manufacturing and distribution of the Breakstone s brand. In 1983, Upstate Niagara acquired the Bison Foods Company. Cottage cheese, sour cream, dip, and yogurt are manufactured at this cultured products plant in Buffalo. The Bison and Upstate Farms brands, as well as private label products, are manufactured and sold to customers in the retail, food service and industrial sectors.
