The Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers is a non-profit membership group consisting of 170 member firms from the trucking and trucking-industry related companies operating at the Port of New York-New Jersey. Representing a majority share of port and container traffic, the association fosters open communication between the intermodal trucking community and various stakeholders such as the Port Authority, State Legislators, Shipping Lines, and Terminal Operators. With a history dating back to 2002, the Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers is dedicated to serving the interests of its members in the intermodal transportation industry, particularly at the Port of New York-New Jersey. The port, handling over 80% of the world trade for a 10-state, 260-mile radius area, plays a significant role in the U.S. volume of trade. SIWBA is a chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, which was formed in 1980 to promote the advancement of women in society and of women in the legal profession, promote the fair administration of justice, and give voice to issues of particular importance to women attorneys on a statewide and national level.
