Pietro Alessandro Canetta, MD

Angelo B. Biviano, MD, MPH, is a cardiac electrophysiologist whose area of expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex heart rhythm irregularities. He has clinical and research interests in catheter and device based managements of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, as well as the use of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Biviano is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Biviano completed undergraduate studies at Princeton University with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. He received his MD and Masters in Public Health (in Health Care Management) degrees from Harvard University in 1997. He completed residency, chief residency, and fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Biviano has experience with patient care, teaching, and cardiovascular research. He has been named "Best Doctor" in US News and World Report, "Top Doctor" in New York Magazine, "Teacher of the Year" in the Division of Cardiology at Columbia University Medical Center, and is a recipient of a National Institute of Health research grant in the area of atrial fibrillation ablation. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Biviano is a full time faculty member at ColumbiaDoctors since 2006. Dr. Biviano sees patients at Columbia University Medical Center in Washington Heights, NY.

Dr. Accordino graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science in Pre-medicine with minors in Health Policy and Administration and Biology. She completed her medical degree at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. While in medical school she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society which recognizes high educational achievement. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and her Medical Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Fellow. During that time, she was awarded a Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and Merit Award. She also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cancer-Related Population Sciences supported by the National Cancer Institute for her work in quality improvement and health outcomes research. Upon fellowship graduation she became an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Columbia University. Since her faculty appointment she has received grant funding from multiple agencies including: The American Society of Clinical Oncology, The HOPE Foundation, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The American Cancer Society, and the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute. Dr. Accordino is currently involved in patient care, clinical research, education, and quality improvement. Dr. Accordino’s research aims to improve the quality and delivery of cancer care, and cancer survivorship. Dr. Accordino participates in clinical trials at the local, national, and international level. She also has experience leading multicenter cancer trials through the SWOG Cooperative Group. The overall goal of her research is to improve quality and outcomes within oncology.

Dr. Visrodia is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Digestive Diseases at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He is an Interventional Endoscopist who specializes in the endoscopic management of pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder and gastrointestinal disorders. He has a particular interest in the endoscopic removal of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions throughout the gastrointestinal tract using endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). He is trained in several other advanced therapies, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and fine needle aspiration/biopsy, balloon enteroscopy, cholangioscopy, radiofrequency ablation (e.g., Barrett’s esophagus), stent placement, stricture dilation, and endoscopic suturing. Dr. Visrodia is originally from Los Angeles, CA and graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He stayed on to receive his M.D. from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California with Dean’s Honors, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He pursued an additional year of specialty training in Interventional Endoscopy at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He was on faculty at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, prior to returning to Columbia University. Dr. Visrodia is an active member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO). He has published research and review articles, book chapters, editorials and delivered presentations on the endoscopic management of pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions (e.g., Barrett’s esophagus) as well as improving the safety of endoscopy.
