Staten Island Mental Health Society is a nonprofit organization that provides mental health and related services to Staten Island children. It specializes in treating children who are emotionally disturbed and have neurological disorders, dependent on alcohol or drugs and are economically disadvantaged. Staten Island Mental Health Society has three center, including children s community mental health center, day treatment center and teen center. Its children s community mental health center provides services, such as individual and family counseling, special education, child abuse prevention and academic tutoring services. Staten Island Mental Health Society s teen center provides substance abuse treatment programs with counseling, treatment, support, and training in social skills in a nonjudgmental and recreational environment. Its clinical staff features psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. It is headquartered in Staten Island, N.Y.
