Andrew Ashikari, MD, FACS, is a nationally acclaimed surgical oncologist with over 25 years of clinical practice in the New York metropolitan region. Dr. Ashikari's state-of-the-art care includes nipple-sparing mastectomy, a procedure he says enhances cosmetic outcome and provides effective medical benefit for women with breast cancer or who want to reduce hereditary risk. His expertise in this surgery is unparalleled-his team has performed some of the highest volumes of nipple sparing mastectomies than any breast center in the world. "I wanted to be a doctor from a young age," says Dr. Ashikari, who was inspired by his physician father. Dr. Ashikari works with a highly skilled, interdisciplinary team, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists and genetic specialists to develop individualized treatment plans.
