Dr. Lieberman serves as Director of Surgical Oncology at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital /Weill Cornell Medical Center, Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and consultant at the Strang Cancer Prevention Center. Dr. Lieberman is also Director of Surgery at The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health.He is skilled and experienced in a wide array of surgical procedures, and specializes in the area gastrointestinal malignancies--including colon and rectal cancers, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, and hepatobiliary cancers--as well as melanoma and soft-tissue sarcoma.Dr. Lieberman completed his surgical training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.Certified by the American Board of Surgery and National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Lieberman utilizes the latest innovations in surgical techniques, including minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, to minimize patient discomfort and promote recovery from surgical procedures. He performs laparoscopic procedures on the colon, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, and stomach.Dr. Lieberman is a member of a myriad of professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He has also received numerous awards, including the New Jersey Medical School's Dr. Prystowsky Award for Patient Care, University of Pennsylvania Hospital's Surgical Scholar Award, and American Cancer Society Career Development Award. These include cochlear implants, congenital hearing loss including congenital cytomegalovirus infection, progressive hearing loss, cholesteatoma, conductive hearing loss and microtia as well as treatment with hearing aids, bone conduction sound processors, otologic reconstructive surgery, and cochlear implantation. She is also experienced with the management of cleft palate and velopharyngeal insufficiency affecting speech and swallowing.Dr. Drusin is also experienced in the management of airway and swallowing disorders including laryngeal clefts, airway narrowing, and obstructive sleep apnea with minimally invasive endoscopic techniques as well as open procedures. She is also trained in the management of congenital and acquired neck masses including thyroglossal duct and branchial cleft cysts, enlarged lymph nodes, and vascular anomalies including hemangioma.Throughout her career, Dr. Drusin has been recognized with awards for her service and teaching.
