Margaux Elyse Wooster, MD

Marco B. Zoccali is a minimally invasive surgeon with extensive expertise in the treatment of the broad range of colorectal diseases including IBD, colon and rectal cancers, and benign colorectal diseases. He received his medical degree at the Catholic University in Rome, Italy where he also completed his surgical training. He then came to the USA where he did a Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Chicago followed by a surgical residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He then completed his Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Chicago. Although committed to managing the entire spectrum of pathologies that can affect the lower intestinal tract, his personal interest lies mostly in minimally invasive approaches to colorectal conditions – including the robotic platform – and the management of inflammatory bowel diseases. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Zoccali is also a prolific researcher. He has published more than 50 articles in major surgical journals including The Journal of The American College of Surgeons, The British Journal of Surgery and Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and has contributed to several book chapters.

Dr. Nattaly E. Greene, a bilingual, bicultural hip and knee orthopedic surgeon fluent in Spanish and English, has joined Columbia Orthopedics as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the Adult Hip & Knee Reconstruction team. Dr. Greene will see patients beginning Monday, September 15th, at both the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) Herbert Irving Pavilion (HIP) and the Columbia Doctors Midtown location at 51 West 51st Street. Dr. Greene’s clinical expertise includes the latest techniques in total and partial knee replacement, total hip replacement, and complex revision joint replacement surgery. She earned her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the AAMC Herbert W. Nickens Medical Student Award. She completed her residency at the renowned Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program (HCORP), where she was elected Administrative Chief Resident and honored with the William H. Thomas, MD Award for Excellence in Orthopaedics. Dr. Greene then pursued the prestigious adult reconstruction and joint replacement fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC, receiving advanced training in complex hip and knee revision surgery and the management of prosthetic joint infections. Her research focuses on improving patient outcomes in joint replacement, with a particular interest in young adult hip issues such as dysplasia, as well as access, health disparities, and global health. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, and the American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons (AALOS). Born and raised in Colombia, Dr. Greene immigrated to the United States at age 19 with a passion for medicine and a commitment to social justice. Before orthopedic surgery, she worked in diverse roles including as a cattle farmer and orthopedic registered nurse which helped shape her perspective and provided her with a unique set of skills that continue to influence her practice today. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to improving access to musculoskeletal care locally and abroad, including multiple Operation Walk mission trips and independent work in Colombia and Uganda. Dr. Greene’s mission is to restore her patients’ mobility and function so they can live healthier, more fulfilling lives. She is equally devoted to mentoring the next generation of orthopedic surgeons and leaders to create lasting change both locally and globally.

Dr. James Lee is an internationally recognized endocrine surgeon who specializes in the care of patients with thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders. Dr. Lee is the Chief of Endocrine Surgery and the Edwin K. and Anne C. Weisskopf Professor of Surgical Oncology at Columbia University and the Physician Director of the Endocrine Service Line at the NY Presbyterian Hospital. He serves as Co-Director of the multidisciplinary Columbia Thyroid Center, Parathyroid Center, and Adrenal Center. He has been rated as one of the Best Doctors in America and is one of the highest volume endocrine surgeons in the country. Dr. Lee received his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, completed his residency in General Surgery at Columbia and went on to a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lee is actively involved in the leadership of Endocrine Surgery at the national and international level. He serves on the Executive Council of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and Standing Faculty of the international Endocrine Surgery University. He co-created the inaugural Postgraduate Course in Endocrine Surgery at the American College of Surgeons and is a featured lecturer in the biannual Masters of Endocrine Surgery Course. He has authored over 100 articles and book chapters, including the AAES Parathyroidectomy Guidelines which sets the international standard for the care of patients with parathyroid disease. He is also the Co-Editor of Surgical Endocrinopathies and the Founding Figures which details state of the art care for patients with endocrine disorders as well as the rich history of discovery in the field. Dr. Lee has given over 100 invited lectures and visiting professorships at institutions around the world. He has travelled extensively to teach other endocrine surgeons advanced techniques such as minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic retroperitoneal adrenalectomy. He has mentored dozens of clinical and research fellows over his career, many of whom are now leaders in their own institutions and abroad. Dr. Lee also serves as the Vice Chair of New Media in the Columbia University Department of Surgery and Chair of the ColumbiaDoctors Communications Committee. In this role, he oversees the digital strategy for multiple groups across the medical center with the mission of providing the highest quality education on health and wellness to the global audience.
