Dr. Lauren Ruggiero is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who provides a broad scope of women’s healthcare services, such as pregnancy and postpartum care, contraceptive placement, and annual health maintenance exams. Dr. Ruggiero provides both in-office and hospital-based obstetric and gynecologic care. She specializes in performing ambulatory procedures such as intrauterine device insertion, manual vacuum aspiration, and hysteroscopy.Dr. Ruggiero completed her medical degree at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and her residency training at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve. Since 2017, she has been a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in 2024, as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.Throughout her career, Dr. Ruggiero has worked with a variety of diverse patient populations. These experiences have contributed to her philosophy of approaching each visit with an open mind and nonjudgmental attitude. By understanding each patient’s values and needs, she partners with them to construct an evidence-based treatment plan that she delivers with empathy and compassion.Dr. Ruggiero has received multiple awards for teaching, research, and academic excellence. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, knitting, and cooking. She and her long-time partner, Mark, love to spoil their six-pound Pomeranian dog.
