Epolin is a leader in the development, manufacture and sale of near infrared dyes to the laser and welding eye protection, security ink and optical filter markets. The company was established in 1983 by a group of organic chemists determined to pursue a business built upon the development and manufacture of new molecules. Sustained in its early years by winning small business innovative research grants and other government programs, Epolin completed five projects in the area of expanding monomers and went public in 1989. In 1991 the technological direction of Epolin was refocused on its main technology of near infrared dyes. The company manufactures a number of products that include dyes, such as near infrared, laser absorbing, water soluble, welding, visible opaque and ink dyes; anti-stokes pigments; NIR coatings; credit card inks; and formulated dye pellets. Epolin is headquartered in Newark, N.J.

Founded in 1964, Colorco Inc. is one of the oldest coloring manufacturers in the United States. Located in Linden, N.J., the company specializes in formulating custom dry color as well as manufacturing color concentrates and liquid colorants. It also formulates for all thermoplastic resins, including grades of specialty engineered resins and compounds. The company caters to the manufacturers of plastic components for homes, garden wares, tools, decorative washbasins, windows, blinds, structural partitions, food/nonfood packaging, office furniture and medical devices.
