Kernan Elementary School

Kernan Elementary School offers a variety of educational and enrichment programs for students in grades kindergarten through five. It teaches various subjects, including English, math, science, social studies, health education, language arts, computer science, music, physical education, and arts and crafts. The school offers various special education programs, such as wellness center, Saxon phonics, accelerated reader program, monthly magnet theme assemblies, computer club, writing and video club, scrabble club, ham radio and guitar club. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as science, art, English, technology education and performing arts. It operates a library and computer laboratories. James H. Donovan Middle School offers the English as a Second Language program. The school operates guidance and technology departments. It also provides special education programs for students with learning difficulties. The school offers sessions in various foreign languages, such as Italian and Spanish. James H. Donovan Middle School is a part of the Utica City School District.

The School of Art Gallery organizes exhibitions for various artists. Located in Utica, N.Y., it organizes various shows and provides cultural enrichment services to the community. The school is a division of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, which is a fine arts center that was established in 1919 and conducts more than 800 events every year, including exhibitions and performances, as well as art and dance classes. The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is a part of the PrattMWP, which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the New York State Education Department.
