NYC troubadour, explorer, & celebrant Born in Manhattan, living in Brooklyn, I have loved and studied the maritime history of NYC for half a century. I'm the author of two books about the city's cultural history, and have worked as a licensed tour guide here for the last decade, after a career as a college history professor. I have led tours for Jane's Walk, NYU, CCNY, and a dozen other NYC cultural institutions, and am the writer, director, and producer of Sailortown – an immersive theatrical experience in South Street Seaport.
