John Calvin Morrison Brust, MD

Dr. Noble completed his undergraduate studies in math and chemistry at Vanderbilt University, followed by medical school at Emory University. His graduate medical training included internal medicine internship, neurology residency including chief resident in neurology, and neuroepidemiology and behavioral neurology fellowship, all at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Accordingly, he is board certified in neurology, behavioral neurology & neuropsychiatry, and public health. Dr. Noble primarily sees patients with dementia but is also involved in multidisciplinary clinical and research efforts to support patients with persistent post-concussive symptoms. Dr. Noble is fluent in Spanish and his comprehensive approach to care views the patient within the entire family dynamic, with particular focus on disadvantaged communities. Dr. Noble is also a recognized neurologic educator at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, having held leadership positions as a current or former lead of its neurology clerkship, preclinical neuroscience training and summer research training programs. He has received an AAN A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award and is a scholar in Columbia’s Virginia Apgar Teaching Academy. Aside from his clinical work and commitment to neurologic education, Dr. Noble directs and supports several longitudinal NIH-supported research initiatives related to Columbia’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, all of which aim to identify novel lifecourse modifiable risk factors for cognitive aging and means to improve public health literacy. His professional leadership has been recognized by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). He was an inaugural member of the AAN Emerging Leaders Program and is a Fellow of the AAN. He is the co-editor of the 14th edition of Merritt’s Neurology, a standard global neurology textbook. He is the author of Navigating Life with Dementia, a handbook for dementia caregivers. Dr. Noble co-founded Arts & Minds, a non-profit organization promoting well-being for dementia patients and their caregivers via art-centered experiences, and developed a patented concussion diagnostic technology with others at Columbia University.

Dr. Julian Agin-Liebes is an assistant professor of neurology in the Movement Disorders division. Dr. Agin-Liebes completed his medical degree at the Medical School for International Health at Ben Gurion University in Israel. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine followed by his residency in Neurology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and served as chief resident in his final year. He completed his fellowship in movement disorders at Columbia University Medical Center. He conducts research into the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease with a focus on genetics and biomarkers and is involved in clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease. He is also the director of the Parkinson’s Foundation Brain Bank.

Dr. Taemin Oh is the Co-Director of Complex Pediatric Spinal Neurosurgery and the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgical Scoliosis. His primary focus is guiding young patients through their surgical journey and advocating for their care. As a pediatric neurosurgeon, he has an active practice offering contemporary treatments for common neurosurgical conditions such as hydrocephalus, brain cysts/tumors, aneurysms/arteriovenous malformations, and craniosynostosis. In addition, he has specialized expertise on managing pediatric spinal pathologies, including pediatric scoliosis and spinal deformity, spina bifida, tethered cord, cerebral palsy, spasticity, Chiari malformation, and cervical deformity. He is well-versed in both traditional open surgery and minimally invasive, fusionless surgeries, including vertebral body tethering. After graduating with honors from Yale University, Dr. Oh earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He is one of the few pediatric neurosurgeons in the country, and the sole one in New York City, who has dual training in pediatric neurosurgery and pediatric spine surgery, completing two highly regarded fellowships at the University of Utah and Shriner's Hospital for Philadelphia. This comprehensive training has equipped him to address pediatric patients' unique challenges. Reflecting on his expertise in pediatric spine surgery, he has a dual appointment with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia.Dr. Oh is actively involved in research on motion-preserving alternatives to spinal fusion, such as vertebral body tethering, minimally invasive pediatric spine surgery, and spinal column shortening to relieve tension on the spinal cord in patients with tethered cord syndrome. With more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 32, his research is widely recognized and frequently cited in the field. His work has helped shape the direction of pediatric scoliosis care, vertebral body tethering, and other innovative surgical approaches. By combining his research with his surgical expertise, Dr. Oh is expanding access to fusionless alternatives that improve recovery and preserve mobility for children across New York and beyond. His goal is simple: to make surgery safer, recovery faster, and outcomes better for every patient he treats.
