Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, established in 1891 and located in Jamaica, N.Y., provides a range of health care services to the people of the area. The hospital is a more than 380-bed, fully accredited community teaching hospital with a large network of community-based ambulatory care centers. It offers a number of acute inpatient, rehabilitation and mental health services and a Level 1 trauma center. The hospital provides general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory surgery, diagnostic and treatment services, and home health services. Its nonprofit parent organization, the MediSys Health Network, also runs other health care organizations, including Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Trump Pavilion and Brookdale s nursing home.
