Ian Stein, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Neurology team. Dr. Stein has a board certification from the American Academy of Neurology and Psychiatry, specializing in all areas of neurology, including patients with headache, dementia, back and neck pain and other neurological issues. Dr. Stein has a particular interest in the area of neuropathy, focusing on small fiber neuropathy, which is a condition characterized by severe pain attacks that typically begin in the feet or hands. He also has a strong interest in the neurological manifestation of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and autonomic testing. Dr. Stein has two years of fellowship training and clinical neurophysiology with a focus on electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies as well as electroencephalograms. From childhood, Dr. Stein always had a passion in the sciences coupled with the desire to help people. His goal with his patients is to diagnose and find the cause of their issues and use that information to ultimately make them feel better. “I do my best to always listen to the patients, hear their complaints and look for clues that point in the direction of a diagnosis,” said Dr. Stein. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Stein enjoys spending time with his family, building models, collecting rare books and bookbinding.
