Housing Urban Development

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is a housing agency that works towards increasing homeownership among minorities and creating affordable housing opportunities for low-income families. It also supports the homeless, senior citizens, and people with disabilities and AIDS. The department also promotes economic and community development and works to enforce housing laws. The department s enforcement center is comprised of compliance and operations divisions and satellite offices, as well as receives legal support. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development also sponsors single-family and multifamily housing programs. With one of its locations in Albany, N.Y., it is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
