Woodward Mental Health Center is a privately held nonprofit orgnaization based in Freeport, N.Y. It serves emotionally disabled children of ages five through 21. Children receive mental health program services with parent and guardian involvement, integrated with special education, behavior management and social skills training. Its wide variety of services includes psychiatric evaluation, psychological evaluation, individual and group psychotherapy and parent group counseling. It also offers special education for all elementary and secondary grades, rehabilitation counseling and prescription and monitoring of psychotropic medication. Founded in 1950, the organization is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health and the New York State Education Department.

New Visions Magnet School is an educational institution that offers a variety of academic and recreational programs for students in kindergarten through grade four. It conducts English, math, science and social studies classes. It also offers classes in art, music and physical education. The school provides health care, transportation and guidance services to students. It employs a librarian, speech therapist, psychologist, as well as nurse teachers and support staff members. New Visions Magnet School offers sports activities that include basketball, football and volleyball. It has a parent-teacher association that conducts various events for parents, teachers and students. The school s library stocks various types of books and reading and reference materials. New Visions Magnet School is a part of the Freeport School District and is located in Freeport, N.Y.
