HistoryIn just a short amount of time, Women Sanctuary has accomplished a lot! Jennie got together with some close friends and started a board in August. By September 1, Women Sanctuary's Articles of Incorporation were approved and we were officially a nonprofit organization. On September 29, our 1023 form was approved, giving us 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Without wasting any time, we opened our doors for 2 trial weeks of free classes from October 17-31. The weeks went so well we opened for business November 1 and are up and running Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays offering a variety of classes. In addition, we had our first big fundraising event, Women Superhero Art Show, in September and that was a huge success. We have several more events, workshops, courses, and more planned because we are just going to keep growing!SpecialtiesWomen Sanctuary is a women-centered safe space created to form an empowered community by providing opportunities for women to actively engage with each other, participate in activities, and receive support. We offer classes including guided meditation, peer led support groups, mom's groups, yoga, reiki and other services.
