Dr. George Moran is an attending urologist and Assistant Professor of Urology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed his residency in Urology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Moran specializes in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male voiding dysfunction, with a comprehensive approach that also encompasses male sexual health, prostate cancer screening and diagnosis, and other aspects of general urology. His academic interests focus on patient-centered care for BPH, quality improvement and patient safety, and the use of simulation-based training to enhance surgical education. His research has received multiple awards and grant funding, and has been published in leading journals including The Journal of Urology, Urological Oncology, and The American Journal of Surgery. Dr. Moran also serves as the Department of Urology’s clinical liaison to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, helping to coordinate high-quality urologic care for patients in northern Manhattan and surrounding areas.

David R. Bickers, M.D., the Carl Truman Nelson professor and chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and director of dermatology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Bickers received his bachelor's degree from Georgetown University in 1963 and his M.D. from the University of Virginia in 1967. He was an intern in medicine at University Hospitals, University of Iowa, Iowa City, and later completed his residency training in dermatology at New York University Medical Center. During his residency, he was a National Institute of Health training fellow in dermatology, and was a guest investigator and assistant physician at The Rockefeller University Hospital. He originally joined the faculty of Columbia P&S in 1973, before accepting an appointment as Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1977. In 1994, he returned to Columbia P&S in his current position. Dr. Bickers is a leading researcher in environmental carcinogenesis and photobiology. The author of more than 250 scientific and clinical publications, he has written extensively on the molecular mechanisms of skin cancer and the role of sunlight in causing it as well as diseases induced by environmental sunlight exposure such as the porphyrias. In 1989, he chaired a National Institutes of Health Consensus Conference on Ultraviolet Radiation and the Skin. He is the author/or co-author of four books, including Clinical Pharmacology of Skin Disease (1984) and Photosensitivity Diseases: Principles of Diagnosis and Treatment, Second Edition (1989). Dr. Bickers previously served as secretary-treasurer and President of the Society for Investigative Dermatology, and associate editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. He has also served on several of the Society's committees. Dr. Bickers, who is board certified in dermatology, is a member of 11 professional societies, including the American Society for Clinical Investigation, The Association of American Physicians and an Honorary member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the German Dermatological Society and the Austrian Dermatological Society. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Debkumar Sarkar, DO, MBA, FSIR is a board-certified interventional radiologist. He is an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Sarkar serves as director of outpatient interventional radiology services for the Department of Radiology. Dr. Sarkar has extensive experience in interventional oncology and cancer diagnosis and treatment. He is locally and nationally renowned for treatment of metastatic tumors in the liver, lung, and kidneys. Dr. Sarkar has extensive experience with minimally invasive techniques including Y90 radioembolization, microwave ablation, cryoablation, and histotripsy for primary and metastatic cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma, colon cancer, and metastatic breast cancer. In addition to cancer therapy, Dr. Sarkar brings expertise in the treatment of venous disorders including deep venous thrombosis, venous thromboembolism, and vascular insufficiency. Dr. Sarkar has extensive experience treating complex biliary disorders and performs cholangioscopy. He is also very experienced in women’s health treatments for pelvic pain related to fibroids and pelvic congestion syndrome. Dr. Sarkar performs pain management and spine related procedures such as vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. He also works in conjunction with urologists in the treatment of male infertility and urinary obstruction. Dr. Sarkar completed his undergraduate training in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University. He completed medical school training at Rowan University, followed by a Masters in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Sarkar completed an internship at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Cooper University Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center of NJ in Camden, NJ. He subsequently completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology and interventional oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Sarkar served as chief of interventional radiology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and subsequently joined the faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before being recruited to Columbia. Dr. Sarkar has published on numerous topics in IR including treatment of metastatic cancers in the liver with radioembolization and ablation and various topics involving robotics, artificial intelligence, and informatics. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Society of Interventional Oncology where he serves on several national committees including the SIR Economics committee and the expert consensus panel for management of pulmonary embolism.
