The Nassau County Auxiliary Police is a volunteer organization that has been serving the community since 1950, assisting the Nassau County Police Department with various public safety initiatives. Comprised of members who provide thousands of hours of service, the organization plays a vital role in maintaining safety during local events and routine patrols. Open to Nassau County residents aged 18 to 65 with a clean criminal history, the Auxiliary Police offers comprehensive training through the Nassau County Police Academy, as well as uniforms and necessary equipment. With over thirty Community Units operating throughout the county, volunteers have the opportunity to engage with and support their local communities while upholding a legacy of excellence.
