Dr. Paul is an expert in the treatment of head and neck and lung cancer with a track record of developing successful multidisciplinary approaches to treatof these conditions. He has also made major contributions as a translational and clinical researcher. Demonstrating a national and international presence in his field, he has widely presented his research defining specific therapeutic targets or processes that can be targeted for the improved treatment of cancer patients.Dr. Paul received his MD from the Carol Davila Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania in 1993. At the Faculty of Paris 7, in 1995 he received his Clinical Oncology Diploma and in 1996 he received his Chronobiology Diploma and a Masters Degree in the Biology of Aging from the Faculty of Paris 6. In 2016, Dr. Paul received a PhD summa cum laude in Personalized Clinical Oncology, from the Faculty of Medicine in Craiova, Romania. Following his internal medicine residency at the Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, he completed a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Montefiore Hospital in 2002. He was a junior faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College from 2003-2012 when he served as an Attending Physician in Hematology-Oncology at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. Since 2012, he has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Northwell Hofstra School of Medicine and an Attending Physician at the Northwell Health Monter Cancer Center. He has also been an Assistant Professor at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research since 2017.Dr. Paul has a strong background as a translational and clinical researcher. Since 2003, he has been Principal Investigator or Local Principal Investigator on 27 studies, and co-Principal Investigator on 5 others. He has designed and conducted several investigator-initiated studies and initiated 2 FDA approved investigational new drug studies. The results of Dr. Paul’s research have been significant. He designed the first in-man pilot study that uses [18F] Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) for the targeted treatment of cancer, obtaining approval from the FDA and funding from the Northwell Health Cancer Institute.

She then completed a General Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship and a prestigious additional one-year fellowship in transplant hepatology at New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine in Manhattan. Her dedication and educational achievements are only a few aspects that she provides to the community. She additionally is always willing to spend those extra minutes guiding patients through the complex decision-making that higher-level liver care requires. Dr. Faruqui has an interest in healthcare disparities, increasing access to liver transplants for the underprivileged, and providing equal, world-class care to all patients. Dr. Faruqui remains prolific in the liver community and has authored several peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters. She continues these endeavors today. On a personal level, Dr. Faruqui is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She hopes to provide world-class gastroenterology and liver care to the Brooklyn and Manhattan communities.

Nino Mihatov, M.D.

Dr. Nino Mihatov is a board certified interventional and structural cardiologist at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn-Methodist Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Mihatov’s clinical focus is in providing each patient with the optimal therapies in the area of valvular heart disease and coronary artery disease. His main focus is on the use of cutting-edge tools to perform percutaneous coronary intervention, transcatheter valve replacement or repair with devices such as TAVR or TEER, and stroke prevention with left atrial appendage occlusion devices and closure of patent foramen ovales (PFOs). Dr. Mihatov obtained his BS from Georgetown University followed by his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency, chief medical residency, and general cardiology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School where he was chief fellow. Thereafter, he completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. He currently serves as the associate program director for the general cardiology fellowship and medical director of the cardiac intensive care unit. Dr. Mihatov’s research interests focus on the implementation of novel devices into clinical practice and outcomes associated with interventional procedures. He has authored recent publications in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Mihatov is fluent in Croatian and Spanish.
