Harris M. Nagler, M.D., FACS, has joined the Smith Institute of Urology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He previously was Chair of the Sol and Margaret Berger Department of Urology Mount Sinai Beth Israel and President of Beth Israel Medical Center. He was Professor of Urology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.Dr Nagler is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, which honored him by naming him Alumnus of the Year (2015). He trained at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he was on the faculty. Dr. Nagler is the recipient of many national and regional honors. He has been recognized numerous times in New York Magazine s Best Doctors listing and Best Doctors in the United States.He has received recognition as a clinician/researcher. Columbia University honored him with Drs. Harold and Goldman Lampert Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. He received the ACMI Urology Prize of the American Fertility Society, First Prize for Clinical Research in the AUA Prize Essay Contest, the AFS Urology Prize, the John K. Lattimer Award of the Kidney and Urology Foundation of America,the Russell Lavengood Award for Distinguished Service from the New York Section of the AUA.Dr Nagler is a member or many prestigious organizations including the Alpha Omega Alpha medical Honor Society. In addition to membership in these societies he was the President of the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction of the American Urological Association and President of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and President of the New York Section of the American Urological Association.He is currently Secretary/ Treasurer of the SMRU of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is and has had editorial responsibilities for many urologic journals.He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals on many Urological topics and has co-edited four books focusing on the treatment of male infertility. He has been recognized by the American Urological Association with the Distinguished Service Award He received the Culman Award of the Mount Sinai Health care system for excellence in patient communication in 2016. Dr Nagler s practice focuses on male infertility and erectile dysfunction.
