Niagara Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, established in 1956 and located in Buffalo, N.Y., is a more than 170-bed facility that provides long- and short-term skilled nursing care. The center also provides specialized Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, respite care and rehabilitation services. The center has a team of licensed gerontologists and consultants in dentistry, podiatry, ophthalmology, psychiatry and surgery. Patients are also given social, nutritional and pastoral care. Registered nurses are on duty 24-hours a day. The center has physical, occupational and speech therapists. It also provides a range of other services, including television and telephone hookups, on-site barbershop and beauty salon, optical services, and Protestant and Catholic worship services.
