Brooklyn Children's Museum, founded in 1899, is one of the few museums created for children. The museum offers educational experiences through innovation in exhibitions, programs and use of its collections. The museum is located on more than 100,000 square feet and serves over 400,000 visitors a year. It offers services and activities, such as interactive multimedia presentations, hands-on activities, artifacts and innovative designs. Brooklyn Children's Museum received two awards; including Curator's Committee Award for excellence in concept and design, and Media and Technology Award; from the American Association of Museums in 1991. The museum also offers various school and camp programs, such as science programs, cultural and childhood programs and collections central. It is located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
