Despite the adverse timing, Beer Street South has continued in its predecessor's footsteps by serving the best, most sought after beer produced in and around New York City, along with a full bar that emphasizes locally produced spirits, wine, cider, and even sake, all of which are offered on draft as well as traditional formats.Named after a 1751 print by English artist William Hogarth to illustrate the merits of drinking beer over gin, Beer Street began in 2011 as a humble beer and tobacco shop tucked on a quiet street in Williamsburg, before converting to New York City's first locally focused beer bar known for its warm, attentive hospitality and thoughtfully curated, constantly rotating selection.
