Annual Gail Gorin Memorial Tur

The Annual Gail Gorin Memorial Turkey Trot is a beloved event in the Smithtown community, held on Thanksgiving Day since 2003. Organized by Jodi Gorin Kerper and her husband Michael Kerper, the race aims to raise funds for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society in memory of Gail Gorin, who passed away from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. The event features a 5K run and a one-mile Family Fun Run, providing a great way to kick off the holiday season while supporting a worthy cause.

Participants can register for the race and pick up their race numbers and t-shirts at Smithtown Elementary School. The entry fee for the 5K run is $20 for pre-registered participants or $25 for race day registration, while the one-mile Family Fun Run costs $40 for pre-registered families of four or $50 for race day registration. Awards will be given to the top overall male and female runners, as well as the top three males and females in various age groups. All proceeds from the event go towards funding blood cancer research and providing support to patients and their families through The Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
