American Thoracic Society

American Thoracic Society is one of the leading medical associations dedicated to advancing lung and critical care medicine. With more than 13,000 members, its various chapters further the purpose of the society, and act as scientific advisors to their respective local lung associations. Each chapter represents a state or other geographical area, and includes in its membership more than 30 active members. Its chapters hold scientific and business meetings every year, and provide a national forum to address issues of education, practice, research and public policy that are of relevance. The society publishes various journals, and ATS News, which is a monthly print and electronic publication to keep its members informed about the current activities of the society, and features reports and a calendar of meetings, conferences and courses offered. American Thoracic Society is headquartered in New York City.
