Dr. Kate Nixon, D.O., is a licensed osteopathic physician. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathy in California and has an undergraduate career in aerospace and systems engineering. She also minored in Japanese and studied in Kanazawa, Japan. She has worked as an academic coach in Denver, an engineer/scientist in Missouri as well as a runner on the Chicago Commodities Exchange floor. She taught and tutored at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine and did an osteopathic internship in Pueblo, Colorado.

Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) is a primary care specialty that focuses on the application of the osteopathic concept to patient care. It is also an interdisciplinary field that incorporates elements of general medicine, neurology, orthopedics, rheumatology, sports medicine and radiology. Central to discipline, are the manual osteopathic skills (OMT) that when specifically applied, will augment the patient's physiology in a predictable manner. By combining both an osteopathic perspective and OMT, the specialist is poised to tackle a variety of elusive diagnoses with confidence as well as function in a general practice environment. At MountainView Medical Group Osteopathic Medicine, our providers also serve as faculty for MountainView Regional Medical Center's 2-year osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine (ONMM) residency program and supervise the osteopathic medicine residency clinic. The clinic also has a close affiliation with The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM). In addition, our providers currently serve as the medical providers for Las Cruces Public Schools high school athletics and also support NMSU Aggie athletics.
