Cannon Air Force Base Fire Department is operated by the 27th operations support squadron, which manages and controls several functions of the 27th Fighter Wing s flying operation. Located in Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., the squadron is housed in various buildings, and provides various functions, including air traffic control operations, flight scheduling, weather forecasting and aircrew training. It also provides simulator operations, range control, airfield management, airspace management and wing intelligence services. The squadron also offers maintenance and repair of airfields, roads, and buildings at the base, and family housing units. It offers various divisions, such as engineering, environmental, fire protection and housing management.
