Plainfield Police Division

Founded in 1858, the Rahway Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency. It provides proactive professional police services and works with the community members to maintain order and peace. The department has more than 80 sworn law enforcement officers. The Rahway Police Department s detective bureau solves crime cases, apprehends suspects, identifies and retrieves evidences and recovers stolen property. Its special investigation unit conducts investigations into the illegal use and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. The department s records bureau assists the police in obtaining copies of accidents reports and coordinates all criminal and traffic warrants with the municipal courts. Located in Rahway, N.J., the Rahway Police Department also operates an athletic league that administers basketball and softball programs for youths between the ages of 5 and 18.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey manages and maintains bridges, tunnels, bus terminals and airports. Established in 1921, it operates a resource recovery facility that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located in Essex County in New Jersey. The authority manages Red Hook Container Terminal, which features facilities for containerized and noncontainerized cargoes. Its real estate portfolio includes a more than 12,000-acre land and over 40 million square feet of office, industrial, retail and technical space. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey also manages Teterboro Airport, which offers courier services.
