Founded in 1947, Educational Testing Service is a private, nonprofit organization that develops, administers and scores more than 50 million tests annually. The organization conducts educational research, analysis and policy studies, as well as develops products for elementary and secondary education. It serves individual students, their parents, educational institutions and government agencies. Educational Testing Service manages a wholly owned subsidiary, Prometric, which specializes in technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions. The organization develops the TOEFL and TOEIC tests. It maintains operations in over 150 countries. The organization manages nearly 9,000 locations in the United States. In addition, it offers preparation guides for The Praxis Series.
