Dr. Maffei graduated from Rutgers University in 1987 with a degree in pre-medical studies. He then attended New York Chiropractic College where he graduated in 1990 with the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he worked as an associate doctor in a high volume, multi-doctor clinic in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he gained vast knowledge and experience in treating numerous conditions. In 1996, Dr. Maffei left Hoboken as a full time associate and opened as a solo practitioner in Warren at 67 Mountain Boulevard. Just recently, Dr. Maffei expanded his practice and moved the office down the street to 27 Mountain Boulevard, Suite 4. Dr. Maffei has post-graduate training in the treatment of sports injuries and rehabilitation as well as treatment of lumbar disc disorders, and stays current on the latest treatments and therapies. In 2005, he added Low Level Laser Therapy and Autosound, two new state-of-the-art therapies to the practice in order to stay current in an environment where technology is constantly improving. These therapies offer more treatment options for patients where other treatments have failed. In January 2007 Dr. Maffei added the Pro-Adjuster to the practice. This new technology is a computerized analysis and adjustment system that helps the doctor determine where there is a problem. Once the problem area is determined by the computer's intricate software, the doctor uses the adjusting instrument on the problem area and introduces a gentle tapping on the area which gently moves the vertebra. The sensors in the instrument automatically detects when a correction has been made and automatically shuts off, giving the patient a more precise adjustment. This instrument adjusting technique helps to alleviate the fears that some people have about manual adjusting methods.
