In 2002 we opened The Carpet Connection, renting one tiny room in a building down the block from our current location. We bought some paint and rollers and painted the room ourselves. Then we glued a pretty floral border around the room to add to the ‘ambiance’ of that tiny space. Piling samples in every conceivable nook and cranny, we tried fitting as many samples and as much variety into that one little room.
