Bledi Zaku, MD is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon and Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at St. Joseph’s Health. He performs all aspects of cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG), and specializes in complex aortic surgery and valve-sparing aortic root reconstruction, which allows patients to preserve their own native valve while replacing the diseased aorta. He performs aortic arch surgery, mitral valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive transcatheter aortic/mitral valve replacement (TAVR/TMVR) and thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR), transposition of anomalous coronary arteries, and mechanical circulatory support for cardiac and pulmonary failure (ECMO, Impella, RVAD).
