The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center (TBZTEC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1983 by Sharon Matola, originally established to care for animals from a natural history documentary. Over the last four decades, it has evolved into a renowned wildlife education center, providing a home for over 150 rescue animals representing 43 native species in naturalistic habitats.
Located in the Belize District, TBZTEC is dedicated to inspiring passion for wildlife conservation through educational experiences and rehabilitation efforts.
