The Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone Indians, a federally recognized Tribe, is composed of four Bands - Battle Mountain Band, Elko Band Colony, South Fork Reservation, and the Wells Band Colony - each exercising limited authority over local matters while the Te-Moak Tribal Council holds overall jurisdiction over its Bands and tribal lands.
With a Constitution amended in 1982 and a Corporate Charter approved in 1938, the Te-Moak Tribe conducts tribal elections every three years, and its current Tribal Council, along with the Band Councils, work towards the betterment of the community and the preservation of their rich history and culture.
