The North Las Vegas Public Works Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of public infrastructure systems. It operates the administration, building safety, engineering services, roadway maintenance and traffic operations divisions. The department s engineering division offers design, planning, construction management and administrative services for capital improvement projects. The North Las Vegas Public Works Department also provides on-site and off-site construction inspection, as well as land development services. Its roadway maintenance division is responsible for street sweeping and the maintenance of roads and detention basins. In addition, the department reviews and processes various subdivision, parcel, reversionary and boundary line adjustment maps. Its traffic operations division offers maintenance services for traffic signals, fiber optic cables and streetlights. Located in northern Las Vegas, the department employs a staff of over 300 employees.
