Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a subsidiary of Speedway Motorsports, a marketer and promoter of motorsports entertainment in the United States. The company owns six speedway facilities: Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lowe s Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Speedway Motorsports hosts nearly 20 NASCAR events at its tracks every year and derives approximately 80 percent of its total revenues from NASCAR-sanctioned events. The company also provides souvenir merchandising through SMI Properties, which manufactures and distributes smaller-scale, modified racing cars through 600 Racing, as well as broadcasts syndicated racing programs through Performance Racing Network. The total permanent seating capacity of the company s speedways is approximately 775,000. Speedway Motorsports employs more than 875 people and operates a racetrack in Las Vegas.
