Established in 1892, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska is a faith-based, full-service social care organization that serves more than 35,000 individuals and families annually through its various educational and health care programs. It provides child sexual abuse prevention and addiction treatment services. The organization offers individual, group and family counseling services for children and adolescents with sexual behavior disorders. It specializes in parenting education, anger management and foster care services. Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska provides health status evaluation, medical intervention and adoption services, as well as one-on-one and community therapies. It also offers housing options, behavior management, and assisted and independent living services. The organization conducts various health awareness campaigns, workshops and seminars, as well as provides training for the development of life, coping, relapse prevention and disaster response skills. Located in Lincoln, Neb., the Child Guidance Center is a private, nonprofit agency that provides mental health services to children, adolescents and their families. Founded in 1949, the center employs a team of mental health professionals who have expertise in the areas of psychiatry, psychology and social work. It also offers family, art and play therapy, as well as counseling services. The center provides treatment to children and youths between the ages of 1 and 19. It is accredited by The Joint Commission. The Child Guidance Center is affiliated with Region V Systems, Lincoln Public Schools and Lancaster County Youth Services Center.
