What started with a determined young man who recognized the growing demand in the industry and realized the special skills that he possessed for sharpening tools. This young man decided to build his own business. James Hammond Sr. started grinding tools in 1966. In March of 1986 he started his own company doing general sharpening for the metalworking and woodworking industries. The company grew by word of mouth and in 1992, his business had grown considerably and was incorporated as J&S Saw & Tool Service, Inc As his sons came on board, the company took on a broader scope in the industry. In addition to the sharpening and modification of tooling, the company became a distributor for many of the brands of tooling we were sharpening. At that time extensive research was put into the quality of tooling available by the many manufacturers. From that we were able to develop strong working relationships with the companies that we became distributors for. Through the years, J&S Saw & Tool Service, Inc had become a thriving and respected company in the industrial cutting tool industry. As Shane Hammond found himself dedicating his life and putting all his passion and ambitions into the company and the industry, he purchased the company from his father in September of 2000. He was committed to continuous reinvestment into the company focusing on ongoing process improvement, upgrading of equipment and maintaining a strong dedicated work force of experienced tool grinders. He continued to constantly strive to become the most unique supplier of Industrial Cutting Tools. We next expanded into the medical field to develop prototypes and new products for the medical industry. Among those we service are Aerospace, Automotive, General Machine Shops, Maintenance Departments of all Industries, Medical, Metal Fabricators, Millwork Shops, Tool & Die Shops, and the many more industries that would use anything that cuts to the most precision of applications.
