We have been performing this valuable service since 1939, when Ruth Jane Saxton began caring for older persons in a home at 22nd & Frederick here in St. Joseph. Delmar Saxton, Ruth's son, began working with his mother at the original home. Delmar's wife, Jessica, joined them in the early 1950's at a home at 25th & Francis St. In the next several years, our care expanded to several homes across St. Joseph. In 1984, Jessica established Saxton Riverside Care Center, consolidating all of the smaller homes into one. Delmar and Jessica's son and daughter, Tim and Connie, joined the business in 1988, making three generations strong. In 1998, we acquired two additional facilities and incorporated in them the same proven Saxton philosophy for professional, personal care.
