Enterprise Label Inc began 48 years ago in 1962 with one man and one tiny press in one cramped basement. Today, 48 years, 5 buildings, thousands of customers, and one great flood later, it is still a thriving family business with an unshakable commitment to customer service and quality.Ray Schmitz, the founder, whose philosophy from the first was to make certain his customers had their labels when they needed them, no matter what it took to do so. When his sons Dennis and Dan joined the business as printers in the late 70's, they contributed an uncompromising dedication to quality printing to the customer service commitment of Enterprise Label. In the 32 years since joining the business, Dennis and Dan have been intimately involved in every aspect of the business, from bidding and pricing, to scheduling and printing, to shipping and billing. When customers call, they can be assured that the people helping them know what they are talking about from the inside out.Many changes have taken place since the early days of Enterprise Label. People who saw our warehouse after the flood of 1993 when 5 feet of water filled the plant wondered how a family business could survive that kind of devastation. The Schmitzes and their employees however, rolled up their sleeves and went back to work. They saw this temporary setback as an opportunity to upgrade machinery and computers and come out of the situation stronger. Although it took 3-4 months to get back to normal, we are proud to note that production was shut down for less than two weeks.Ray has since retired and Dennis and Dan oversee all aspects of the business ; some of the faces have changed but Enterprise Label's dedication to its customers is the solid foundation that will never change.
