Object Computing, Inc ( OCI ) is a company of software engineers and was founded by Ebrahim Moshiri, Ph. D. in 1993. OCI 's roots were as a provider of object oriented mentoring and educational services, with a strong focus on the practical, to a large St. Louis-based organization. With the growing recognition of the power of OO, OCI was able to quickly expand its service offerings and its client base, both within St. Louis and beyond. Consulting became a significant part of our business as many clients migrated both their staff skills and their systems, from procedural programming to that of object oriented.In 1998, Sun awarded OCI one of the first designations in the country as a Sun Authorized Java Center, in recognition of our leadership in the early adoption of Java.Knowledge transfer is considered a core OCI competency and a key part of our strategy in building long term relationships with clients and their staff. OCI works with clients, when developing open source solutions, to ensure that they too feel that sense of ownership and community that is the hallmark of open source development models. Many of OCI 's first global clients were in those market segments.
