North Gulfport Middle School

Established in 1956, N. E. Taconi Elementary School provides a range of academic and athletic activities for more than 350 students in grade five. The school offers classes in math, science, social studies and language arts. Its curriculum also includes music, art and physical education. N. E. Taconi Elementary School maintains a library that houses a selection of books and reading and reference materials. In addition, the school operates a parent-teacher organization. It provides special education, Title I and accelerated reader programs. N. E. Taconi Elementary School organizes book fairs, educational field trips and family reading nights. The school is governed by the Ocean Springs School District.

Located in Moss Point, Miss., Magnolia Junior High School enrolls students in grades seven and eight. The school offers classes, art, business, foreign languages, math, music, physical education, science and social studies. It also offers vocational education and foreign language sessions. Douglas Magnolia Junior High School s library stocks textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference materials. The school offers a variety of athletic activities, including softball, baseball, football, volleyball and soccer. In addition, it provides career counseling and guidance services. Magnolia Junior High School offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. The school is a part of the Moss Point School District, which operates several elementary and high schools, as well as a learning center.
