Founded in 1910 and located in Jackson, Miss., Mississippi Children's Home Services is a nonprofit organization that offers behavior management and foster care programs. It also provides emergency shelters for runaway and homeless youths. The organization offers lunch and snack options, counseling and case management services. It additionally provides recreational, medical, dental care, psychological evaluation and transportation services. The organization offers the ARK program, which is a 20-bed facility that provides substance abuse outpatient and outreach services for adolescents. Its educational program includes classes on social, life and career-related topics. Mississippi Children's Home Services also operates the CARES Center, which provides residential treatment services for children with physical and emotional problems. It also offers family and recreational therapies, as well as cultural and spiritual enrichment services.
