Gastrointestinal Associates and Endoscopy Center was formed in 1981 when the founding doctors recognized the growing need for GI care among their patients. The group s physicians specialize in colon cancer screening, colon polyp removal and advanced endoscopic techniques. In addition, they can treat reflux disease, Barrett s esophagus, intestinal bleeding, anemia, billiary tract disease, gallstones and hepatitis C. In 2001, GI Associates opened the endoscopy center, its outpatient procedure facility in Jackson, Miss. The clinic accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United HealthCare and Mississippi Health Partners.
