MJF strives for justice by creating opportunities for law students to perform public interest and pro bono legal services. Social Justice We recognize that many people in our society are unable to protect their rights and to obtain justice due to their inability to afford legal services. Professional Responsibility We believe that it is a privilege to be trained in the law, and that it is the duty of law students and lawyers to exercise the privilege in service to the community. Inspiration We seek to instill in law students, and in all lawyers, an ethic of providing high quality public interest and pro bono legal services. Integrity We uphold high ethical standards and vigilantly protect MJF's role as an honest broker of public interest and pro bono opportunities among law students, law schools, public interest agencies, and law firms. Autonomy MJF was founded by law students and derives its energy and direction from students. We value MJF's autonomy from any particular law school, its administration, and its faculty and from any particular public interest agency.

Archibald Granville Bush and his wife, Edyth Bassler Bush, created the Bush Foundation in 1953 to encourage and promote charitable, scientific, literary, and educational efforts. The Archibald Bush Foundation is an independent, private foundation with a regional grantmaking focus. To enhance the quality of life in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, the Foundation has provided grants and fellowships, totaling over $600 million since its founding, to support the work of nonprofit organizations and the professional development of individuals. Bush Foundation is a member of the Minnesota Council on Foundations and the national Council on Foundations. It also subscribes to the Minnesota Council s Principles for Minnesota grant makers.

The Ramsey County Bar Association is Minnesota's oldest bar association. The RCBA has been supporting and educating members and the Ramsey county community since 1884 by providing continuing legal education, networking and social, events. The RCBA also provides an attorney referral service. The service will help callers find attorneys that match their legal needs. Then, for a $30 fee, will schedule a consultation with a private attorney at a convenient location. The Ramsey County Bar Association also can assist lawyers in hiring full time and part time non attorney legal office support. The RCBA will advertise job openings and will pre-screen applicants, including spelling, grammar, proof reading and keyboard ability tests. RCBA is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Their goal is to provide financial support to programs in the Ramsey County community that benefit the legal profession, improve quality and accessibly of justice.
